What We Take & What We Won't Take

One of the perks of full-service junk removal is that you do not have to sort your pile into “yes” and “no” before we arrive. We take the vast majority of non-hazardous household, office, and light construction items. Still, a short list of materials is off-limits by law or safety rule, so here is exactly where the line falls.

What we take

Furniture & household

• Couches, sofas, sectionals, recliners, and loveseats
• Mattresses and box springs of every size
• Dressers, tables, chairs, desks, bookcases, and entertainment centers
• Rugs, carpet and padding, and general household clutter
• Pianos, pool tables, and other heavy specialty pieces

Appliances

• Refrigerators, freezers, and chest freezers (we handle the refrigerant properly)
• Washers, dryers, dishwashers, stoves, ovens, and microwaves
• Water heaters, furnaces, and window or wall air conditioners

Electronics

• TVs of all types, including old CRT/tube sets and flat screens
• Computers, monitors, printers, and stereo equipment
• Phones, tablets, cables, and small devices, routed to e-waste recycling

Outdoor & bulky

• Hot tubs and spas (we cut and dismantle them on site)
• Sheds, fencing, decking, and above-ground pools
• Playsets, trampolines, grills, and lawn equipment
• Yard waste, brush, and storm debris

Renovation & construction debris

• Drywall, lumber, trim, cabinets, and countertops
• Flooring, tile, and roofing tear-off
• Fixtures, tubs, toilets, and general remodel scrap

Full cleanouts

• Garages, basements, attics, and sheds
• Whole-house, estate, and hoarding cleanouts
• Foreclosure, eviction, and rental turnovers
• Storage units and small offices

What we can't take

A handful of materials are classed as household hazardous waste or are otherwise restricted from landfill loads under Indiana and federal rules. We cannot legally load these in the truck, but the good news is that Vigo County has proper channels for nearly all of them.

• Wet paint, solvents, and oil-based finishes. Latex paint can be dried out with kitty litter and thrown in your regular trash; oil-based paints, stains, and varnishes must go to a Vigo County Solid Waste District Tox Away collection.
• Automotive & household chemicals — motor oil, antifreeze, gasoline, pesticides, and pool chemicals. Most auto shops take up to five gallons of used oil; the rest go to Tox Away days.
• Propane tanks, compressed-gas cylinders, and other explosives/flammables.
• Asbestos and materials that may contain it (some old floor tile, pipe wrap, and siding), which require a licensed abatement contractor.
• Medical/biohazard waste, needles, and chemicals.
• Rechargeable and button batteries should go to a retailer that collects them; alkaline batteries are landfill-safe in Vigo County.

Tires and refrigerant-bearing appliances are a special case: we can take them, but they follow their own disposal path (Indiana tire rules and Clean Air Act refrigerant recovery), so they may carry a small add-on. See our dedicated tire and refrigerator guides.

How full-service removal works

If you have never used a junk removal service, the process is refreshingly simple. You point, we haul. Here is the whole flow:

• Tell us what you have. A phone call, a text, or a couple of photos is enough for us to size the job and give you an up-front price.
• We schedule a window that works for you — often same-day or next-day for the Terre Haute area.
• We confirm the price on site once we see the load, before any lifting begins.
• We do the labor. The crew carries everything out from wherever it sits — upstairs, basement, back yard — so you never lift a thing.
• We sweep up and haul it away, routing items to donation, recycling, or the landfill as appropriate.

Business & commercial items

It is not just households. We regularly clear out offices, retail spaces, rentals, and small warehouses across the Wabash Valley. That includes office furniture, cubicles, desks, filing cabinets, store fixtures and shelving, breakroom appliances, and the general clutter that piles up in back rooms and storage areas. If you are a property manager, contractor, or business owner with a space to clear, the same take/won't-take rules apply — just at a larger scale.

One item or a whole house — both work

There is no job too small or too big. Some folks call us for a single mattress or one dead treadmill; others need an entire home, garage, and shed emptied. We size the truck and crew to the job either way. If you only have one or two items, we still come to where they sit and carry them out — you do not have to drag anything to the curb first. And if your pile grows between the quote and the pickup, just tell us; we would rather adjust the price up front than surprise you.

We donate and recycle first

Before anything heads to Sycamore Ridge Landfill, we try to divert what we can. Usable furniture and household goods can go to Goodwill of the Wabash Valley, the Habitat for Humanity ReStore, or the Catholic Charities Bethany House Household Exchange; metals go to scrap; and electronics go to e-waste recycling. It keeps good items in the community and out of the ground.
